Covid-19 deaths in Hastings and Eastbourne hospitals rise

A total of 71 people have now died with the virus at hospitals operated by the East Sussex Healthcare Trust, NHS England confirmed.

There has been a total of 32,065 Covid-19 associated deaths across the UK, Public Health England said.

The number of confirmed cases of the virus in East Sussex has risen to 648, Public Health England figures show.

In West Sussex there have been 1,230 cases and another 400 in Brighton and Hove.

There have been 4,191 confirmed cases in Kent, according to Public Health England.
