New bench for Beech Hurst Gardens: Haywards Heath mayor and Mid Sussex MP unveil sensory garden’s new seat

The poignant event was attended by Haywards Heath town mayor Howard Mundin, his consort Margaret Baker, Mid Sussex MP Mims Davies and Haywards Heath Town Councillor Sandy Ellis.
The mayor knows a lot about Parkinson’s after working on a deep brain stimulation project in the1980s to help ease symptoms of the disease.

Hide AdThe mayor’s consort has also had a long involvement with the Mid Sussex Branch of Parkinson’s UK.
The mayor said: “We were truly honoured to take part in this unveiling ceremony in this beautiful sensory garden which helps sufferers of Parkinson’s disease. What a warm and friendly group of supporters The Mid Sussex Branch are and I am in awe of the level of care and support they provide locally.”
He said they offer information, friendship and support to people with Parkinson’s, as well as their families and carers. They also organise regular events and activities so Mid Sussex residents can meet with others that are affected by Parkinson’s. The group also provides exercise classes, music and singing.
Mr Mundin said: “We had such a lovely time chatting with members of this amazing group of volunteers and my biggest congratulations to the Mid Sussex Branch of Parkinson’s UK on their 30th anniversary.”
