Positive start to Dementia friendly Burgess Hill group
More than 100 residents and representatives from councils, businesses have attended the launch of Dementia Friendly Burgess Hill.
The event was to encourage people to become partners of a Dementia Friendly Community, described by the Alzheimer’s Society as one in which people with dementia are empowered to have high aspirations and feel confident and able to participate in community activities.
A steering group is in place to continue to move things forward in Burgess Hill focusing on challenging stigma, ensuring early diagnonis and providing practical support to patients.
