In this latest round of funding, the charity, based in North Paeade, has given out a total of £1,286,500 across 12 different research projects including studies looking into epilepsy, bacterial meningitis, multiple sclerosis and primary ciliary dyskinesia.

The charity does not receive any government funding.

The charity says that none of the research they fund would be possible without the support of people who generously spare their time as volunteers, make donations, raise funds and take part in events, leave gifts in their wills, as well as trust and corporate partners.
