Silent vigils spotlight major cancer campaign launched in Horsham
Women from across the UK are to hold silent vigils in London to highlight a major cancer campaign launched by a Horsham couple.
Former pilot Dr Susan Michaelis and her husband Tristan Loraine founded a campaign for funding £20 million vital research into lobular breast cancer – known as the Lobular Moon Shot Project – three years ago.
Sadly, Susan died from the disease in July last year but Tristan is determined to carry on the campaign. “The project has now become the most politically supported campaign in the history of the nation with 463 MPs supporting us,” said Tristan. See lobularmoonshot.org
Lobular breast cancer is the second most common type of breast cancer but rarely shows on a mammogram or ultrasound and has no specific treatment. Twenty two women are diagnosed with the disease in the UK every day.

To highlight that fact, ladies from all four nations will carry out a number of silent vigils in London on April 22 to have their message heard. This will be followed by a drop-in day in parliament and also the screening of a documentary film made by Tristan entitled ‘Our Journey With Lobular Breast Cancer' that evening on television.
