An urgent appeal for food supplies has gone out from a major Horsham charity group.

Horsham Matters is seeking support for the town’s Foodbank where, it says, supplies are ‘low.’

The group says: “We are struggling to provide 75 summer food parcels a week in addition to feeding almost 150 people a week through regular emergency food parcels.” The Foodbank provides foodstuffs for struggling families every summer as well as regular emergency parcels.

Last year the group supported 10 families every week during the holiday period, but this year, said a spokesman: “We have seen a huge leap to 75 families needing this support.”
