The walk was organised by Bare Biology founder Melanie Lawson, who will be joined by former Olympian Leon Taylor and there will be catering from Great British Bake Off star Kate Henry.

The idea is to mark World Mental Health Day (October 10), by encouraging people to walk and share their worries and anxieties without the fear of judgement in a bid to promote open discussion and battle prejudice for mental health issues.

The seafront walk, which is open to everyone, will start and finish at Brighton’s Palace Pier and aims to motivate and reassure people to discuss ways to achieve mental wellbeing.

Participants are also invited to attend an inspirational talk at Bare Biology offices with founder Melanie Lawson who overcame postnatal depression and Olympian Leon Taylor, a firm believer in the power of physical activity on mental health.

Melanie said: “I am delighted to be organising this event with Mental Health Mates, in support of their efforts to help people battle mental illnesses. “It is only very recently that I started to talk about my OCD and postnatal depression and how these conditions have impacted my life.

“I truly believe we need to keep talking and reaching out and the more we do so, the more awareness we can secure for mental health issues that affect so many.”

Bare Biology is also celebrating the launch of ‘Mindful’, an Omega 3 fish oil specifically formulated for brain health. £1 from every pack of Mindful will be donated to Mental Health Mates initiative.

Suitable for all abilities, the walk is open to all, but tickets for the talks are limited and available on a first-come-first-served basis. There are 50 spaces for the talks.
