The opening of the £120 million Hastings to Bexhill link road took place on December 17 2015.

The project had proved controversial and was delayed by protests by environmental campaigners, bad weather and archaeological work. These pictures were taken on a press tour the day before the official opening when a police escort led the first motorists along the route.
