There was a huge buzz as clothing giant H&M’s new Worthing store prepared to open in October, 2009.

Montague Street was packed with people queueing, eager to be among the first through the doors of the new shop.

It had opened in part of the former Woolworths building, following the national chain’s closure earlier in the year.
