Finally, the month of July is upon us. The sun is out, sometimes, and the days are long and bright.

This month also marks the return of a much-anticipated series of events in our fair city. The Polygon Pop-Up events have become one of the highlights of the foodie calendar. Matching some of the city’s top restaurants, chefs, producers and brewers to create one off parties that celebrate the local and national food and drink scene.

The first Polygon Pop-Up takes place this evening at the Ribot headquarters up in the Seven Dials area of the city. Tonight, the food is supplied by London based burger crew Burger Bear. Burger Bear have been creating beastly burgers and combining exciting tastes for the best part of four years; so you know you’re in good hands. They promise to supply an evening of “Burgers, Disco & Good Times - rocking out wicked food and great atmosphere!”.

If that was not enough on Saturday evening Brighton-based Baby Bao brings you Asian fusion street food, Taiwanese fluffy light steamed buns filled with good things and tantalisingly tasty sides. If you have not yet experienced Bao buns then you cannot miss this event. Baby Bao also have a kitchen at the newly renovated craft beer pub The Pond, and I can tell you from experience that they are superb.

The following weekend will see Brighton Bier taking over the Ribot site, matching their award-winning beers with the highly celebrated, and delicious, PizzaFace Pizzas on the Friday. This is followed by vegetarian and vegan Indian Street Food courtesy of Ahimsa on the Saturday. Ahimsa have been a Brighton favourite for the last four years and even reached the UK street food finals in the past.

All events start at 6pm and run through until 10:30 with free entry. As always Polygon pop-up will be hosting a wide variety of UK craft beer and local micro-breweries, gin and wine producers so whatever your tipple there should be something for you. Polygon promise to supply a summer of seriously good eats, drinks and new food experiences. A fresh line up of start-ups, independent businesses, street food, high-end restaurants and chefs, breweries and wine producers are ready to feed and water you. I would suggest coming hungry and ready to eat, as there will be plenty of tasty things to get stuck into.

To keep up to date with what is going on at Polygon you need to follow them on Facebook and Twitter. Reading through the line-up is enough to make me hungry. Pretty much every top restaurant in the city is represented and there are some fabulous street food stars and drinks producers to boot.
