Those who love to go all out when it comes to Christmas may enjoy decorating the biggest tree they can find with an abundance of sparkly decorations.
But, for those who find it a chore to decorate the tree, or don’t have the space at home for one, this alternative could come in handy.

Numerous retailers now sell ‘half’ Christmas trees for those who perhaps don’t have room for a full tree, or who find too much decorating tedious.
These trees have been around for a while, but with many of us spending more and more time at home during the pandemic, you might find you have less space for a big Christmas tree in 2020.
The trees tend to be ‘cut in half’ vertically - with a front but no back - which comes in handy if you want to place your tree flat against the wall. Others are shorter in size than a traditional tree, or only have upper branches, creating more room for presents (and less for children or pets to grab) under the tree.
Where can I buy one?
Christmas Tree World is currently selling a six foot tall Arbor Vitae Fir Half Tree, costing £49.99, which is down from its original price of £79.99.

Although this tree doesn’t come with lights, it does feature white, snow-effect branches, which instantaneously give it the look of a winter wonderland Christmas tree. The website says, “With a beautiful snow-effect finish to the tree, it's just the thing for helping you create a winter wonderland. The half tree design makes it ideal for smaller spaces as it'll easily sit flush against a wall.”
Argos is selling an artificial tree without lower branches. It costs £45 and is a great variation on the traditional Christmas tree, if you prefer more floor space.
There’s also a snowy version of this tree, which costs £50.
