Easter activities in the Observer area

EGG-CITING times are in store for families this Easter with a host of fun-filled activities on offer.

Easter trail

Mayor of Chichester Anne Scicluna will attend an Easter egg trail in Priory Park on Saturday (March 30).

The event, in aid of the Children on the Edge charity, starts at 10am, when the mayor will be present, and lasts until 2pm.

The annual event is hosted by the charity and children will search for eggs supplied by Montezeuma’s chocolate shop, in East Street.

There will also be a bouncy castle and face painting.

Entry fee for the trail is £3.50 for one or £6 for two.

Fayre

From Saturday until Monday (April 1), 10am–4pm, Highdown Country Fayre, is on at Highdown vineyard, in Littlehampton Road, Ferring.

Brent Lodge Wildlife Trust will be one of the charities to benefit from the event.

Pet Club

Starting from Monday, Pets at Home is holding a series of free pet workshops.

The Chichester and Bognor stores will be holding their Kids’ Holiday Pet Club at 2pm throughout the week.

Children attending the events will each receive an activity pack.

Treasure hunt

From Monday until Friday, there will be Easter Surprises at Fishbourne Roman Palace.

There will be the chance to take part in springtime crafts and an Easter-themed treasure hunt in the palace grounds.

Activities will run from 11am–4pm.

Bike workshops

On Wednesday (April 3) Halfords, in Portfield Way, Chichester, will be holding free bike maintenance workshops for kids.

Starting from 10am, each workshop will take an hour and will teach eight-to ten-year-olds basic bike maintenance. There will also be a drawing competition with a chance to win a bike worth up to £250.

Labyrinth

Throughout the Easter holidays, there will be a chance for families to explore the labyrinth at Chichester Cathedral.

There will also be activities in the eastern arm of the cloisters.

Children must be accompanied by an adult, activities cost £1.50 per child (entry to the labyrinth is free).
