Worthing school makes trainers part of school uniform to encourage children to be more active

Trainers have been made part of the uniform at one Worthing school, so the children are ready to get up and go at any time.

Teachers at Springfield Infant School and Nursery say trainers encourage active playtimes in all weathers.

Wearing them also enables the children to take part in the Springfield Stride more easily, going out to run laps of the playground during or between lessons to invigorate their thinking.

Mrs Becky Wycherley, head teacher, said: “Our children seem to be much happier wearing school trainers throughout the day and parents have said that it is cheaper and more manageable.
