Worthing micropub turns to the dark side for Christmas beer festival celebrating Krampusnacht
A Worthing micropub is turning to the dark side for a Christmas beer festival celebrating Krampusnacht.
The Fox & Finch is kicking off its festive plans with a Krampusnacht-themed beer festival – a nod to manager Rose’s family roots.
The celebrations begin on Friday, December 5, and the Krampusnacht dark beer festival that will run until Sunday, December 7.
The beer line-up includes a mix of cask, keg and canned stouts, porters, dark sours, smoked rye and alcohol-free stout, as well as a selection of festive pale ales.

Mulled wine is also being served, alongside The Fox & Finch’s usual offerings.
Rose said: "My wife Xen’s ancestors come from Germany and Austria, where December 5 marks Krampusnacht – a night when naughty children (and grown ups!) are punished by a devil-like figure called Krampus.
"This is followed by the Feast of Saint Nicholas on the 6th, when good deeds are rewarded with sweets and gifts.
“We thought this was a great opportunity to celebrate the 'dark' side of Christmas with some delicious dark beers. So, whether you’ve been naughty or nice this year, we invite you to treat yourself.”
Krampus-themed t-shirts and handmade prints designed by Xen are available to purchase all weekend.
The Fox and Finch, in Littlehampton Road, is owned by Graeme Roche and Sophie Morgan-Gilder, who also own The Bottle and Jug near Worthing railway station and run Independent Worthing.
There will be a mini makers’ fair on Sunday, December 7, from 12.30pm to 3pm, where staff and regulars will be selling their festive crafts and wares, including award-winning jams and preserves from Perfectly Preserved.
