Kingley Vale National Nature Reserve family fun day

A FAMILY event, cancelled earlier this year due to bad weather, has been re-scheduled for Saturday (September 29).

Kingley Vale National Nature Reserve, near Chichester, will celebrate its 60th anniversary with a host of activities including a Gruffalo trail with storyteller Ben Fairlight, horse-drawn carriage rides, medieval archery and animal face painting.

There will also be guided bird walks and a nature treasure hunt.

Reserve manager Katherine Birch said: “We’re keeping our fingers crossed for some beautiful autumnal sunshine so we can give Kingley Vale the birthday party it deserves.

“It really is a magical site, from its mystical yews to stunning views.”

The event will be open from noon to 4pm, entrance and some activities are free of charge.
