Not just knock, knock jokes

Alongside the Hastings gallery’s Knock Knock exhibition Stand Up at the Jerwood will see two well-known comedians perform on April 11.

Phil Nichol and Markus Birdman will be appearing at the event sponsored by Hastings Brewery.

The ticket price includes curry and a beer.

Scottish-born Phil Nichol first became known as a member of comedy musical trio Corky and the Juice Pigs.

His Edinburgh fringe show Things I Like I Lick was nominated for the Perrier Award in 2002.

In 2006 Nichol won the if.comedy award (successor to the Perrier) with a show entitled The Naked Racist, and in 2007, Nichol was nominated for Best Headliner at the Chortle Awards.

Markus Birdman is a comedian and compere, who performs live all over the UK and internationally, and also as a voice-over and warm-up artist.

He suffered a stroke aged 40, and much of his material reflects on this experience.

Tickets for the event are £20 and can be purchased from the Jerwood.
