Iain said: “They really are two superstars like their namesakes Cilla Black and Dusty Springfield and have been my constant shadows through the pandemic.

“Cilla, I got from a ex-work colleague when she was seven weeks old and Dusty arrived at my door two months later, who was 10 months old at the time.

“Dusty was very thin and frightened, but Cilla wouldn’t give up till she started to play with her and they bonded so strongly during that week and a half. “They might be very small dogs, but their personalities and hearts are bigger than and living creature I know and not yappy like other chihuahuas.”

Iain will receive a £50 Pets at Home voucher.

Belle the cat came second and Jake and Maggie, the old English sheepdogs, third.
