At the first meeting of the new year members of the 1066 PROBUS CLUB were entertained to a talk by Colin Daniels on his experiences as a National Serviceman in the 1950's stationed in Aden. This was made all the more nostalgic as the slide presentation had been prepared from old black and white prints.

At our next meeting on Thursday 4th February, Ken Brooks will be giving us an interesting insight into “Hastings at War.”

By contrast our meeting on Thursday 3rd March will be a travelogue on Route 66, USA by Digger Broderick.

Probus Clubs are a national organisation and the local 1066 group meets at the Bannatyne Spa Hotel, Battle Road, St. Leonards-on-Sea at 10am until noon for coffee and a talk by a guest speaker on the first Thursday of the month except April and October when we have a luncheon.

If you are a retired or semi-retired professional, business or managerial gentleman interested in listening to talks in a friendly atmosphere, you would be most welcome to come along as a guest, with a view to joining us as a member.
