2,000 homes near Lodsworth lose water

More than 2,000 homes in the Midhurst and Petworth area have had their water cut off today (January 25).

Southern Water said the problem was down to a ‘technical fault’ and added it hoped normal service would be resumed today.

In the meantime water tankers have been transferring water into the network, and a spokeswoman for Southern Water said water was being distributed, and customers should check the Southern Water website for more information.

Villages affected include Lodsworth, Tillington, Upperton, Rodgate, Northchapel, Heyshott, Graffham, South Ambersham, River, Selham and Cocking.

She added that when supplies are restored, customers may temporarily have discoloured water coming from their taps. If this does happen, she said customers should keep the water running until the water ran clear.
