A-level success at Battle Abbey School

THERE was plenty for Battle Abbey students to smile about yesterday (Thursday) as the school once again saw some excellent A-level results.

Roger Clark, headmaster, said: “Once again we are celebrating another fantastic year for A-level results at Battle Abbey School.

“The A-level candidates this year have not only achieved a 100 per cent pass rate but just under two thirds came away with A and B passes and 88 per cent gained the top three grades.

“Special mention should go to John Snape who brought home a phenomenal three A* grades, dropping only two marks in this summer’s exams.

“Two of our pupils will be heading to Oxford, others to Durham, Nottingham and Sussex and UCL.

“Two are moving on to Central St Martins, one to Guildford College of Drama and one will be taking a place at the Royal Veterinarian College, while another will be studying medicine in Heidelberg.

“In addition, our pupils will be studying biochemistry, music, engineering, teaching, geography, history, marketing, psychology, accounting, history, sport studies and forensic science among other subjects at a wide variety of universities both in England, the United States and on the Continent.
