A-LEVELS: Plenty make the grade at The Littlehampton Academy

Some cried tears of joy, having been accepted into their university of choice, while others were shocked by results that they could never have imagined achieving.

Among them include Year-13 students Emma Collins (A*AA), Jessica Gilpin (AAA), Holly Hughes (A*A*B) and Nicolas Wilson (AABB).
The proportion of those receiving A* to B grades was slightly down on last year, from 42 per cent to just over a third (36 per cent).
However, a vast majority of students at the school managed to make the grade to get into their first choice universities.
The school also recorded notable results at BTEC level, with half receiving either Distinction* or Distinction.
