Ninfield Bonfire Society will be joined by societies from across Hastings, Rother and beyond for their spectacular celebration of all things bonfire.

The main road through Ninfield will be closed from 7pm to allow the procession to go through.

Marching to the sound of the society’s drumming group, the procession will set off at 7.15pm.

The bonfire will be lit on the recreation ground at 8pm, with a vibrant firework display bringing proceedings to a close at 8.30pm.

All times are approximate and subject to change.

The money collected at this year’s Ninfield bonfire will go to St Michael’s Hospice, St John’s Ambulance and other local projects.

Ninfield Bonfire Society, in its present form, started in 2009 and has gone from strength to strength.

A number of events are held throughout the year to enable the society to raise enough funds for the annual spectacle.

And Ninfield Bonfire Society is always open to new members.

Society secretary Carol Holland said: “We are always looking for new members who bring fresh ideas, or just like to help and be a part of something.”

Following Ninfield, the next event in the Sussex Bonfire calendar is the annual celebration at Hastings on October 18.
