A29 closed due to car fire at Slindon

THE A29 is understood to be closed in both directions following a car fire near Slindon.

The fire service was called to the blaze at 5.32pm involving a single vehicle, according to a spokesperson.

It is thought to be close to the roundabout which joins the A27 and delays have been reported.

The fire, which has now been extinguished, caused 80 per cent damage to the car and there were no reports of anyone injured, West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said.
