The Hastings Academy students must be accompanied by a parent to shop at Aldi in Ore before and after school.

The policy was brought in after some pupils’ behaviour ‘caused disruption’ to customers, according to an Aldi spokesman.

“The behaviour of some pupils from The Hastings Academy has caused disruption to other customers in our store,” the spokesman said.

“Following consultations with the academy we have decided to prevent children from entering the store without a parent between 8am and 9am and 3pm and 4pm.

“This is a temporary arrangement and will be reviewed in due course.”

A concerned parent contacted the Observer after the supermarket had refused to serve her son who had got to the tills before being denied.

The academy has been contacted for comment.
