The challenge is to complete a list of 24 Christmas songs and carols, with a clue being revealed each day, in the style of an advent calendar.

Angela Tanner, of High Street, Tarring, said: “It is the first time that we have done it. The first day of advent marked the start of the Walk Along Tarring High Street Christmas Quiz.

“We have put together a list of clues for fairly well-known Christmas songs and carols and sent them to our local schools, nursery and businesses.

“If people cannot guess them straight away, then they will find more clues in various windows along Tarring High Street up until Christmas Eve.

“It’s just for fun and we hope people will enjoy walking along Tarring High Street and getting into a festive mood.”

Numbers in windows reveal which day clues will be revealed.

Some people have decorated their windows with extra clues and those taking part can vote for their favourite by emailing [email protected] by December 30.
