African school benefits from Worthing school’s generosity

GENEROUS parents and pupils have helped to raise £1,149.84 for an African school.

At the end of last year, Rose Ndehwa, head teacher of The Baobab School in Nairobi, visited Our Lady of Sion Early Years to enhance her professional development.

The visit also gave students firsthand experience of another culture and lifestyle – The Baobab School’s students are from the poorest backgrounds.

Through donations at Nativity and carol services, Sion raised £1,149.84 for the African school. It has also provided Baobab with shoes and equipment.

Ms Ndehwa said: “We can never thank you enough for all the love and support; we can’t do half of what we do if it were not for your generosity.

“I thank God for getting a chance to meet you. Your donations have enabled us to buy resources that help us to implement the awesome ideas and teach children as they do at Sion Early Years.”
