The annual event at the American Express Community Stadium, forms part of Gully’s Days Out, a membership programme for children, young people and adults across Sussex with additional needs.

The initiative is run by Albion in the Community (AITC) the club’s official charity, in partnership with American Express.

At the Christmas party, up to 100 members of the Gully’s Days Out programme and their guests will be welcomed by Gully and have the opportunity to get their face painted, enjoy sensory art and meet Santa.

Throughout the year, Gully’s Days Out members and their guests can enjoy a calendar of events. Free admission tickets are provided by 22 popular leisure attractions, including Brighton Palace Pier, Sea Life Brighton and Hollywood Bowl.

As part of the programme, Gully’s Days Out members can also enjoy up to 30 supported days out a year, where trips are supervised by an AITC representative, accompanied by Amex employees who have undertaken accredited disability awareness training.

Paul Brackley, disability manager at AITC, said: “The Christmas party is a great way to bring programme participants and volunteers together. Thanks to the continued support of our generous partners we are able to provide free admission to fun days out to families of children, young people and adults with additional needs, who might not otherwise get to enjoy some of the best attractions in Sussex.

“On the supported days, Amex employee volunteers provide assistance to individuals, giving their families an opportunity for a short break. We’re looking forward to welcoming new members, volunteers and partners to the programme in the coming year.”
