All Saints Coffee Morning

THE BITTERLY cold weather on Saturday did not prevent local folk from venturing out to the popular coffee morning at All Saints Church, Sidley

It's easy to see why this event is such a hit, as where else can books, many of which appear to be brand new, be purchased for as little as 20p or, delicious home-made cakes and pies (always quick to be snapped up) be bought for less than 2.

Other stalls had various items on offer including toys and bric a brac.

There was a tombola and raffle, teas coffees and cakes were served and a large selection of stunning hand-made cards by Mary Wakefield were available.

Mary said many people seem to be preferring hand-made cards because they are, "more personal."

All Saints Parish Priest, Father Trevor Buxton said the money raised from the event would go towards the day to day running of the church adding: "We've had a good turn-out today. There are lots of regular people here but also many new faces, which is always nice to see."
