Alleged 999 hoaxers charged

TWO people have been charged in connection with a series of hoax calls to both the police and fire and rescue service, and one of them also faces allegations of arson.

He is a 17-year-old from Bexhill, who cannot be named for legal reasons, and the arson charges relate to incidents in which a fence and hedges in Glovers Lane, Bexhill, were set alight.

Both the youth and an adult, Steven Sheppard, of Blackman Avenue, St Leonards, each face six allegations of making hoax calls during October and November. Both have been bailed to appear before magistrates in Hastings on Monday, January 10 at 9.15am.
