Angmering writing day a motoring success for pupils

Pupils from St Wilfrid’s Catholic Primary School, in Angmering, were joined by youngsters from Ferring CE Primary School and St John the Baptist CE Primary School in Findon to take part in the scheme, last Wednesday.

They spent the afternoon questioning staff at Chandlers Worthing BMW, in Water Lane, Angmering, as part of a special boys’ writing day, organised by St Wilfrid’s.

The group were tasked with writing a review of the garage’s latest range of cars as well as finding out how many cars were sold there and interviewed Chandlers’ head of business Adam Heffer, who was impressed by their questions and motoring knowledge.

Guy Mairs, nine, said: “It has been the best day ever, I was so excited to come to the garage and learn about BMW cars.”

Lisa Narayan, customer relations management executive at Chandlers, said: “The boys were all really enthusiastic. They could be the Formula One or motor journalists of tomorrow!”

The project was designed to fuel the boys’ passion for writing. St Wilfrid’s head teacher Sharon Reynolds said: “It has been amazing to be able to come to the BMW garage, the staff have given us their full support, Lisa, Adam and the whole team have made this a very memorable day.”
