Animals benefit from donation
BEXHILL animal sanctuary owner Barby Keel said on Monday that she had received a donation of £300 from friends Catherine Salvage and Anita Turner who had been collecting money in the hope of rescuing a half-blind, stray dog, Scampi, from the Greek island of Rhodes.
Barby said: “I’m very grateful to everyone who contributed to this cause, and while the money will be of great help to the sanctuary, I am prepared to return it if, by any miracle, Scampi is found again. My hope is that someone on the island may have taken him in for the winter.”
