ANOTHER CRASH AT BLACKSPOT

A LOCAL motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital with a suspected broken leg after a collision with a car at a notorious accident black spot.

The crash happened outside Paygate Cottages on the A26 at Stoneham, between Lewes and Isfield, at 10.30am on Sunday.

Previous accidents there have included a lorry smashing into one of the homes.

A spokesman for East Sussex County Council said double white lines and anti-skid matter were being considered for the stretch of road.

Local residents intend to present a 1,200-name petition at a full council meeting on December 5 calling for the road to be re-aligned.
