Apologies after lengthy traffic delays in Bognor Regis

WEST SUSSEX County Council has apologised for ‘frustrating’ roadworks that kept commuters stranded today (October 6).

Streetlight works were carried out by SSE along the A259 in Bognor Regis along Upper Bognor Road.

“Some operational issues arose during today’s work which caused disruption,” said a spokesman from West Sussex County Council.

“We can only apologise at this point as we appreciate how frustrating this disruption can be for drivers waiting in traffic.”

One driver who contacted the Observer said it took her more than an hour to get from Littlehampton to Bognor Regis because of the works.
