The five students, who are in their second year of an Extended Diploma in Dance course at West Kent College, Tonbridge, were inspired by the aquarium’s conservation work and the displays in the Rock-a-Nore Road wildlife attraction.

Liberty Brown, Emily Cheung, Paige Jefferies, Charlotte Roberts and Megan Williams were the dancers who provided visitors and staff with an unexpected bonus.

Blue Reef Aquarium’s Leanna Lawson said: “The aquarium has been the venue for lots of different events and activities over the years; ranging from birthday parties to wedding proposals; however this is the first time it has both inspired and played host to a dance routine.

“The girls did a fantastic job and it must have been quite daunting to have to perform in public in such an unusual location.

“Everyone who saw their performance was very impressed and it’s great to see how the marine environment can inspire such a diverse range of artistic expression.”

Sarah Lake, from West Kent College said: I would like to thank Blue Reef Aquarium for allowing our students to perform in such a stimulating and inspiring location.”
