Artists open up studios at Rye

Artists at Rye’s School Creative Centre will be allowing people a glimpse into their creative worlds when they open their studios to the public on Saturday September 20.

The Creative Centre, in the former Freda Gardham School at New Road, is home to over 30 professional artists from across a wide spectrum of disciplines.

They include printmakers, painters, illustrators, textile artists, sculptors, live artists, designers, and photographers showing a wide range of works.

The Open Day runs from 10am - 4pm and the cafe will be open serving homemade soups, cheese scones, delicious cakes and cream teas. There is ample free parking on site.

On Saturday September 13 artist Paula MacArthur, gives a talk called Technique and Abstraction”- the value of technical skills to abstract painting. It takes place from 2pm - 3.30pm.
