Children, parents and teachers at the Arundel CofE Primary School, in Jarvis Road, went hopping mad last Wednesday (March 27) as the school ushered in the last few days before the Easter holidays began.

Around 22 families took part in the morning march, from the doctors’ surgery, in Canada Road, up to the school – with most sporting floppy ears and bunny outfits.

Head teacher, Andrew Simpson, said the day had another message behind it.

“It was a fantastic way to celebrate Easter with the children,” he said. “But it was really about encouraging the children to walk to school rather than getting here by car.

“The walk was also a way to get parents to park away from the school and to walk and talk with their children.

“It’s a great way for parents to find out what a child has been doing at school and what they might be doing at school when they get there.”

As well as the bunny hop, pupils took part in a traditional Easter eucharist service.

Youngsters were also treated to a musical performance by the West Sussex Music Service for their last day of term.
