Arundel ghost walk tunes into the spirit world

GHOULISH goings-on are planned in Arundel later this month.

Brave souls will be able to follow some phantom footsteps on a candlelit ghost walk around the ancient town on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, October 29 and 30.

Lanterns will add to the spooky atmosphere, as walkers make their way from the town’s museum, up the High Street, along to St Mary’s Gate and back along Tarrant Street, finishing by the Swan Inn.

Special ghost detectors – electromagnetic radiation detectors which reveal the presence of ‘spirits’ – will be taken along for the walkers themselves to use.

The stories told along the way on the Ghosts and Mysteries of Old Arundel walk are all based on written accounts of paranormal activity in the town, and also included will be two Arundel murders from the 1940s.

The walks, which will raise funds for Arundel Museum, begin at 7pm and last for about an hour and a quarter.

Groups will be limited to 15 people and are suitable for accompanied children aged 12 and over.

Tickets, price £5, must be booked in advance and are available from the museum.
