It has a 25-metre main pool, a 5-metre entry pool (with gently-sloping steps and hand-rails) and a large children’s pool (for the Under-8s).

The main pool is also equipped with a disabled hoist (but please give the Lido advance warning if you need to use this).

The Lido now has a state-of-the-art water heating system and overnight pool covers – which allows it to maintain the water in the pools at 28 degrees centigrade.

David Wood, chairman of the charitable trust that runs Arundel Lido, said: “We are looking forward to a really good Summer Season this year.

“Our season tickets are better value than ever; not only have we yet again maintained prices, but this year we have included many extras for season ticket holders.”

These extras include free entry to early morning and late-evening swimming sessions, free entry to mother and toddler sessions and free entry to ‘family hour’ (with inflatables) every Sunday morning.

Nikki Richardson, the Lido manager, added: “We have scheduled events throughout the season including our Family Fun Day on Bank Holiday Monday, Bootcamp every Saturday and Aqua Aerobics on Tuesday Mornings.

“We also have Water Walkerz sessions, Saturday morning swim school throughout the season, 1-1 sessions and our Monday to Friday crash courses in the school holidays.
