ASBO bans woman from drinking booze in public

A WOMAN has been given an anti-social behaviour order (ASBO) which bans her from drinking alcohol or being drunk in any public place in East Sussex.

Police received numerous complaints about the behaviour of Tamsin Smith, 24, of Bowley Road, Hailsham.

Sussex Police South Wealden Inspector Claire Stephenson said: 'This person has caused considerable disruption to the people of Hailsham with her activities whilst under the influence of alcohol.

'I hope that the issuing of this ASBO will remind Tamsin that she is expected to behave in a manner which is acceptable to others.

'South Wealden police will continue to monitor the situation and any alleged breaches of her ASBO will be dealt with robustly.'

Smith appeared at Eastbourne Magistrates Court on Thursday last week.

She is also not allowed to use threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour outside food shops in Hailsham town centre.
