ASBOS SERVED ON FOUR

FOUR boys from the same family have been given anti-social behaviour orders for causing distress.

The youths, aged between 13 and 18, were served with interim ASBOs after causing alarm, harassment and distress to people living near to their Newhaven home.

The teenagers' campaign of terror included threatening to kill their victims, arson, malicious telephone calls and breaking windows.

The orders were requested by Lewes District Crime Reduction Partnership '“ a multi agency partnership which seeks to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour.

Chairman of the partnership, Cllr Liz Lee, said: 'I would say to others who display such behaviour that it will not be tolerated and the partnership will continue to support the community stance against such behaviour.'

The interim orders prevent the boys from acting anti socially in the local community and if they breach the terms of the order they will face criminal charges and possible imprisonment.

An application for full orders will be considered in April.
