Asda date set

COUNCIL planners have set the date when they will discuss the fate of Asda's controversial proposals for Worthing College

Although their decision will be effectively irrelevant, planning councillors will meet on June 28 to decide whether they would have allowed or blocked plans for a new superstore on Worthing College's Bolsover Road site.

That decision will then form part of the evidence used by the Planning Inspectorate and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, who will make the final decision.

Although this is not the first time a date for the decision has been announced and then moved, the publication of comprehensive paperwork suggests this could be the day.
