Assault on 10-year-old girl

POLICE are keen to trace the driver of a distinctive white van with blue stripe after a report of an attack on a 10-year-old girl.

The van, possibly a Luton type, with a roller-shutter rear door, was seen in The Drive, Uckfield, on Saturday afternoon.

Sgt Lloyd Lewis said: 'We are currently investigating an allegation of common assault on a 10-year-old girl.

'We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of what happened.'

The male driver was described as aged 30-40, with greying hair and wearing a hooded top with the hood up.

It is believed the van was driven off in the direction of Snatts Road, Uckfield.
