‘Attempted arson attack’ in Eastbourne park

There has been an ‘attempted arson attack’ at an Eastbourne park, according to a resident.

The resident said the incident happened at Old Town Recreation Ground overnight between Monday, August 8-Tuesday, August 9.

Someone tried to ‘burn the children’s play area down’, according to the resident.

A spokesperson from Eastbourne Borough Council said: “We are liaising with Sussex Police and East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.

“Anyone who with information about this incident should contact Sussex Police on 101.”

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for more information.
