Batik Guild exhibition comes to Worthing

A TOURING exhibition featuring work from internationally renowned artists has reached its last stop '“ in Worthing.

Batik Transitions '“ from classic to contemporary '“ is at Worthing Museum and will run until May 26.

Jenn Adamson, chairman of the Batik Guild and joint curator of the exhibition, said: "Two of us decided to start up a touring exhibition to celebrate 20 years of the Batik Guild.

"I'm really pleased with the Worthing exhibition. It's all come together in such a nice place."

Worthing Borough Council's chief executive Ian Lowrie was one of the first visitors.

He said: "It's just wonderful having an assembly of this quality in Worthing."

Referring to his favourite piece in the collection, Devon landscape 1, by the Belgian artist Jacques CoenyeI, he added: "I like this picture in particular because it uses a natural subject and converts it into an abstract form."
