Batman joins Walberton care home staff’s wheely good turn

HEADS turned in country lanes around Yapton as Robin Hood, Batman, a cheerleader and the 118 directory enquiries man cycled past.

They were among a team of six staff from the village’s Warmere Court care home on a ten-mile sponsored ride in fancy dress, who raised just over £400 to go towards extra outings for residents.

Accompanying them in a support car with two first-aiders was Madison Porter, seven, the team’s mascot, who was also included in the team photo.

It’s been a busy, fund-raising time for Warmere Court, run by Shaw Healthcare. Last month the home joined in the Marie Curie Biggest Tea Party Even, generating £150 for the cancer charity.
