Battle Choral Society

OUR last season ended in June 2012 with an amazing concert which celebrated the Diamond Jubilee of The Queen.

How long ago that seems with all that has happened since, but we still have wonderful memories of singing to a packed audience in Christ Church St Leonard’s.

We ended the concert with Beethoven’s Choral Symphony and the Final movement The Ode to Joy was an exultant union of orchestra soloists and choir under the musical direction of John Langridge.

Having done all the hard work, we then gathered for a very social evening at the end of June which was held at the home of one of our members.

Needless to say, the English summer didn’t cooperate so it was held inside, but was still a lovely occasion.

We now look forward to the next season and rehearsing two sublime pieces for our next concert – Faure’s Requiem and Cantique de Jean Racine and Gounod’s St Cecilia Mass.

The next concert will be on Saturday December 1 at St John the Evangelist church in St Leonard’s.
