Beckley Parish Council has their website up and running. Please check it out, there is an update on the 30mph for Beckley. www.beckleyparishcouncil.co.uk. The next meeting will be Wednesday 14th November at 7:30pm at the village centre.

The Beckley parish council meeting in January is scheduled for Wednesday 9th January 2013 has been re-arranged and will take place at 10.00am on Saturday 12th January 2013 in the village hall. Should the meeting prove successful, with many villagers attending, the PC will consider quarterly Saturday morning meetings.

This year’s Beckley Christmas Craft Fayre takes place on Saturday 17th November from 10 am until 2 pm at Beckley Village Centre. Come along and do some Christmas shopping! On sale in the main hall will be a range of unique festive gifts by local craftspeople while in the small hall, children can visit Santa’s Grotto or take part in a range of activities including cake decorating, jewellery making and face painting. We have some fantastic raffle prizes this year and as always, Christmas tombola and the ever popular teddy tombola! Anyone wishing to have a stall (from £12) should contact Kath Oliver on 01797 260609. All proceeds go to Beckley Preschool and Northiam Nursery.

Tickets are selling well for the 40’s & 50’s Night on Saturday 24th November 7-11pm. Held at Beckley village centre, this is a fund raising event for Beckley Village Centre as they are in need of some new curtains to match the new windows! So why not come along for a real village evening with friends, family and meet other villagers. Enjoy the very best music of 40’s & 50’s, played by top DJ’s. Lots of bunting, flags, jiving, red lip stick, tea dresses poke-a-dot dresses! Whether you dance the night away or just sit back and enjoy it with great company.

Bring your own drinks & nibbles. There will be free tea & coffee not forgetting a Raffle. Fancy dress would be great, but don’t be put off if you don’t want to dress up! Just come along and support this great village event. The BSA is holding a quiz with supper on Friday 30th November 7.30pm at Beckley village hall. If villagers & friends would like to enter a team to find out who are the “Brains of Beckley” please can they email [email protected] are £10 per person to include supper and teams of no more than 8 please and will be available from the school office after the half term holiday.

Bargains in Beckley. Setup for locals to sell items they no longer need and want to sell, if you are looking for something why not try posting a wanted post. Dog fouling isn’t just unpleasant, it’s illegal. Dog owners have a responsibility to clear up after their pets, those that don’t can face fines of up to £1,000.If you would like to make a dog fouling complaint please phone 01424 787000 if you don’t make this call they will keep letting their dogs do it.

Beckley Village Centre is available to hire. By people hiring and supporting fund raising events put on by the hall committee it will keep the hiring costs down.
