The allotments are run by Bexhill Neighbourhood Gardeners, which was also celebrating its 10 year anniversary.

John Willis, who has run the allotments, said: “We are delighted that so many people attended.”

He went on to explain that the allotments are set up for the community to go along and help with planting, etc, then share in the produce when it is harvested.

“We are always looking for more volunteers to help with the work,” he added.

John also offers training to Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) standards.

Bexhill in Bloom Awards are on Friday, September 23 at The Caring Community from 5pm with light refreshments and from 6pm.
