Bexhill Sainsbury's staff raise hundreds for charity

Generous staff at Sainsbury's in Bexhill have donated hundreds of pounds to a charity which helps people with special needs.

Representatives from 1066 Specials Football Club visited the store on Friday (October 16) where shop manager Marco Sarro and members of staff presented the group with an 840 cheque.

Mr Sarro said: "We recently had a fun day at the store where staff dressed up in fancy dress, the theme being The Wizard of Oz.

"We had stalls selling books and cakes and also held a raffle and tombola.

"The club is the store's chosen charity this year. Each year we pick a local charity to raise funds for."

"A big thank you to staff and customers who helped raise the money."

The 1066 Specials Football Club gives people with special needs and disabilities the opportunity to play football and receive expert coaching.

It accepts players aged from five upwards, right through to adults. All coaching is by qualified coaches.
