Big annual walk ofRye area will raisemoney for charity

RYE and Winchelsea Rotary Club is encouraging people to enjoy a walk through the beautiful countryside while raising money for good causes.

The Club’s annual Charity Walk is now in its 16th year and takes place on Sunday May 18.

As before there is no entry charge and participants will be able to nominate their own charity or good cause for 50% of what they raise.

The remaining funds will be passed on by Rotary to Rye and District Memorial Hospital and St Michael’s Hospice amongst others.

Starting from Phillips and Stubbs at 47 Cinque Ports Street between 9am - 10am the walk will take volunteers along the banks of the River Rother to Camber, crossing the Walland Marsh to East Guideford and Iden Lock and returns to Rye in time for lunch.

The are a choice of three distances from three to ten miles.
